York is known as the capital of the north and York House is ideally located for accessing York city centre. It is approximately a 10-12 minute level walk from the historic building of York Minster which then leads you through the medieval city's famous streets, alleys, lanes, ginnels, snickets and gates to explore more of the ancient city's attractions such as York Castle Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre and further on to a wide choice of excellent restaurants, theatres and cinema. There is a frequent bus service from the front of the guest house (every 10 minutes) this takes you to and from the city centre from 7am - 8pm. This will not disturb you as we have an excellent triple glazing system.
