About Us

York House is a well appointed property originally built in the late 18th century with later additions. We endeavour to successfully merge all that is required of a modern bed and breakfast establishment with features of an older building in order to create a casual and relaxing environment for the enjoyment of our guests.

York House was established over ten years ago and is constantly evolving in order to provide the best facilities for guests at very competitive rates. This is a small family operated bed and breakfast, the proprietors and staff offer a friendly and efficient service within a ‘home from home' environment.

York House is conveniently located for easy access into York city centre either on foot or by regular shuttle bus service.  Within the city walls you can explore the ancient streets such as The Shambles or Stonegate, visit places of interest like York Minster or York Castle Musuem and the Yorkshire Museum - please go to places to visit and What's on in York pages.  It is equally easy to access the York outer ring road which will then lead you onto routes to other attractions throughout North, East, West and South Yorkshire.
